Pat Kelly grew up in Minneapolis and graduated cum laude from the University of Minnesota/Twin Cities with a degree in Speech-Communication. Pat enjoyed five years as a radio announcer in Sturgis, South Dakota; Mason City, Iowa; and St. Cloud, MN; before moving to Duluth for a job at WEBC.

From 1985 to 1992 Pat was on the radio airwaves as the morning host on 96 Lite FM. While working as a fill-in weather anchor he was recruited to join channel 3 full time. He started as a weather anchor in 1992 and later moved to the anchor desk. Pat has been anchoring newscasts on the station since 2001.

Pat Kelly now anchors Northland's NewsCenter on CBS 3 at 5:30pm and 10:00pm.
