Hermantown, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The #1-ranked Hermantown boys' hockey team, which has been the Class A runner-up four straight seasons, dropped its home opener on Friday night with a 6-1 loss to perennial Class AA power and #4-ranked Wayzata.

Wyatt Aamodt scored the lone goal for the Hawks in the losing effort, that coming in the third period to make it a 5-1 game. The Trojans led just 1-0 after the first period but scored four goals in the second to blow the game open.

Hermantown is now (0-1-0) this season and will next be in action on Saturday against Princeton, with that game set to start at 7:30 p.m. at Hermantown Ice Arena.
