Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The #10-ranked University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) women's hockey team battled on Saturday afternoon, but in the end it was #1-ranked Minnesota taking the 6-2 win at Ridder Arena. UMD fought to a 2-2 score midway through the third period, but the Golden Gophers scored four goals in the last 10 minutes to earn the weekend series sweep. Pernilla Winberg and Jenna McParland each scored for the Bulldogs in the loss, and goaltender Kayla Black made 28 saves. The win keeps Minnesota unbeaten this season and extends the team's NCAA-record winning streak to 36 games, dating back to the end of the 2011-12 season.
