Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- For the 18th straight year, the Lake Park Little League Team is hosting the Art Von Tournament this weekend with 36 teams expected to play during the four days of competition.

This year's tournament has four more teams than in previous years with games starting on Thursday instead of Friday.

The tournament is made up of 10-year-olds through 12-year-olds and allows kids a chance to showcase their best baseball in 90 different games.

"The level of excitement is tied to the fact that there's so many games going on at once," said Paul Romano, tournament director. "This is the end of the year tournament for everybody."

"They usually don't play any games in All-Stars after this so this is kind of their last hurrah, and I think that makes it fun for the kids too."

Championship games wrap up the tournament action on Sunday at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
