Omaha, NE (NNCNOW.com) --- Two ejections shortened the bench on Saturday night for the #20-ranked University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) men's hockey team, and the Bulldogs fell 3-2 on the road against Nebraska-Omaha.
Derik Johnson and Adam Krause each received disqualification penalties for the Bulldogs, with both coming while the game was tied 2-2. The game-winning goal for the Mavericks came on the five-minute power play following Krause's checking from behind penalty in the third period.
Mike Seidel and Tony Camaranesi scored first period goals in the losing effort for the Bulldogs, with the game dropping the team's record to (2-3-1) this season.
Game two of the weekend series is set for 2:07 p.m. on November 11 at CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Neb.
