Atmore Draws Racers from Nat'l Skiing Hotbeds

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The 35th annual Atmore Memorial FIS Slalom race will be held this Friday through Sunday at Spirit Mountain, and it will be featuring racers from some of the best ski locales in the entire nation.

"We have got people coming from places like Aspen, Vail, Park City, and Tahoe," Team Duluth club president David Thickens said, "to race here at Spirit because of the reputation we have built for this race over the years."

Among the more than 200 competitors will be two members of the United States ski team, those being Paula Moltzan and Matt Strand.

The racing gets started Friday morning at Spirit Mountain, with the men going at 9:00 a.m. and the women at 10:50 a.m. The finals are set for Sunday afternoon, the men starting at 12:15 p.m. and the women at 2:05 p.m.
