Saint Louis Park, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Benilde-St. Margaret's junior Jack Jablonski was taken on Tuesday night by Chicago with the 411th overall selection of the United States Hockey League (USHL) Draft, that less than two years after he was paralyzed during a junior varsity hockey game for the Red Knights.

Jablonski will have little chance of actually skating with the Steel, but his selection does fulfill a lifelong dream to be chosen to play in the country's top Tier I junior hockey league.

"Dear USHL teams, Just thought I'd let u know I am eligible for tomorrow's draft," Jablonski tweeted on Monday, playfully prodding some team to use a late-round selection to choose him.

Chicago obliged, and that was followed by another Jablonski tweet.

"Best night ever," was all he needed to write.

Since his spinal cord was severed after a hit from behind in December 2011, Jablonski has regained movement in his arms and also experiences some feeling in his feet.
