State College, PA (NNCNOW.com) --- Wisconsin senior running back Montee Ball has set a new all-time NCAA record for touchdowns in a career, scoring for the 79th time in his career on Saturday in the Badgers' 24-21 overtime loss at Penn State.

Ball scored on a 17-yard running play in the first quarter of the game, taking sole possession of the NCAA record. The touchdown broke Ball's tie with Travis Prentice, who set the previous mark of 78 in 1999 with Miami (Ohio).

The Badgers back has 73 rushing touchdowns in his illustrious collegiate career, with the other six coming on receptions.
