Boot Hockey at the Buffalo House

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- It's billed as the largest boot hockey tournament in the country, and it started back in 1992.

20 teams from across the Midwest and Canada made their way to the Buffalo House for the event.

About 300 players in all are taking part, and all hoping to take home part of the $1,000 grand prize.

Games started Friday night and are being played throughout the weekend

Participants said the history of the event helps make it what it is today.
