Cincinnati, OH (NNCNOW.com) --- Johnny Cueto pitched six strong innings in his first start since being activated off of the disabled list as the Red cruised 5-1 over the Brewers on Sunday afternoon.
Jay Bruce homered and Donald Lutz drove in two runs as Cincinnati took the rubber match.
It was Cueto's first start since May 31. He was placed on the DL on June 5 for the second time this season with a strained muscle in his right shoulder.
Wily Peralta lasted 5 1/3 innings, giving up four earned runs on seven hits. Carlos Gomez had a solo home run in the first for the Brewers.
Milwaukee (28-40) travels to Houston to take on the Astros (25-44) on Monday at 7:10 p.m. at Minute Maid Park.
