Rochester, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) softball team lost a tight battle to Minot State University Sunday morning 2-1, bouncing them from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Tournament.

UMD, who hold a share of the NSIC regular season title, will know their NCAA Tournament fate Monday morning when the selection committee releases the 64-team field.

The Bulldogs fell behind 2-0 after a home run in the fourth inning by the Beavers.

UMD answered in the bottom of the inning when freshman Sami Schnyder hit a ground-rule double that brought around sophomore Jordan Rice.

Senior Julia Nealer threw a complete game four-hitter, giving up two runs.

Seniors Michaela Goris and Kierra Jeffers were named to the NSIC All-Tournament Team.
