Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) sophomore defenseman Brigette Lacquette has been named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) defensive player of the week, it was announced on Wednesday. Lacquette had a goal and two assists this past weekend as UMD stretched its current unbeaten streak to eight games with a home sweep of Bemdiji State. The sophomore also earned a +5 plus/minus rating on the weekend and anchored a Bulldogs penalty kill unit that stopped the Beavers on all 12 power play chances in the weekend series. Lacquette has played in all 22 of UMD's contests this 2012-13 season, totaling three goals and nine assists in that span. Posted by Zach Schneider Bio - Facebook - Twitter - E-Mail
