Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Three members of the University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) football team have been named to the Daktronics All-Region team, which was announced on Thursday afternoon. Senior offensive lineman Garth Heikkinen and senior safety Cameron Harper were each named to the first team, while junior linebacker Colby Ring was named to the second team. All three had previously earned all-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) first team honors for their play in the 2012 season, a year in which UMD went (10-2) and qualified for the NCAA Division II tournament. Heikkinen, a Duluth, Minn. native, has also been named one of eight finalists for the Gene Upshaw Division II lineman of the year award. Posted by Zach Schneider Bio - Facebook - Twitter - E-Mail
