Bulldogs Tie #2 Badgers, Win in Shootout

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) women's hockey team skated to a 2-2 overtime tie with #2-ranked Wisconsin on Friday night and then won in a shootout, earning an extra point in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) standings.

Demi Crossman and Jamie Kenyon scored goals for the Bulldogs, with Kayla Black making 35 saves in goal, including stopping all three Badgers shooters in the shootout.

Megan Huertas was the lone Bulldog to score in the shootout, leading off with a shot high to the glove side of Wisconsin goaltender Alex Rigsby.

UMD is now (7-5-3) overall and (5-5-3) within the WCHA. The same two teams will close out the weekend series Saturday night at 6:07 p.m. at AMSOIL Arena.
