La Crosse, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- St. Scholastica junior Becky Huberty placed fourth on Friday in the women's hammer throw at the NCAA Division III outdoor track and field championships in La Crosse, Wis., making her the first All-American in that program's history.

Huberty finished with a best toss of 181 feet, 9 inches to finish fourth, less than 10 feet away from the winning mark of 190 feet, 0 inches from UW-Oshkosh's Samantha Loew.

The top eight finishers at the national meet earn All-American status, making the Lena, Wis. native the first Saints woman to earn that citation at the outdoor NCAAs.

UW-Superior's Katie Capriglione was also competing in the event, finishing in 10th place with a best throw of 170 feet, 3 inches.
