Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- St. Scholastica junior place kicker Mike Theismann was named a NCAA Division III Preseason First Team All-American by the Beyond Sports Network (BSN) announced on Thursday.

The St. Cloud native, who was also named a postseason All-American by BSN in 2012, finished last season as a member of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Special Teams Player of the Year.

Theismann converted 12 of his 13 field goal attempts in 2012, including his first 11 tries. He also made the longest field goal in program history at 44 yards.

He led the league in extra point tries, making 95 percent of his attempts. He finished fourth in the league overall with 71 points as a junior.
