Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The St. Scholastica men's hockey team was picked to finish third in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) preseason coaches' poll, which was released on Monday.

This will mark the first season for the new-look NCHA, which came about after five UW-affiliated schools, including UW-Superior, made the decision to leave and make up the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Association (WIAC).

The Saints posted an overall record of (13-14-1) last season and return that team's leading goal scorer in Brandon Nowakowski, who was also an all-NCHA honorable mention pick last year.

Northland College, based out of Ashland, Wis., was picked to ninth in the league after closing out 2012-13 with an overall record of (10-17-1).
