Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The St. Scholastica women's basketball team has been tabbed the preseason favorite in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) preseason coaches' poll, which was released on Wednesday.
The Saints received five of a possible seven first-place votes in the preseason poll, that after the team made a strong postseason run last season and qualified for the program's first-ever NCAA Division III tournament.
Erin Frase leads a whole host of returners for the team, which lost just one player from last season due to graduation. Frase last year was an all-UMAC first team pick and led the Saints by averaging 13.4 points per game.
