(Northland's NewsCenter) --- The St. Scholastica Saints and UW-Superior Yellowjackets women's soccer teams each won their home openers Saturday afternoon.
The Saints defeated Dubuque University 2-0 in the first match of the 2011 Advantage Emblem Cup.
Junior Andrea Beatt scored two first half goals for St. Scholastica, which improves its record to (1-1) this season.
The Saints will now host #23 Carleton College on Monday, September 5 on the St. Scholastica campus, with kickoff set for 2:00 p.m.
The Yellowjackets, meanwhile, scored three first half goals en route to a 5-1 win over the Alverno Inferno on Saturday.
Hermantown native Chelsea Cossin and Two Harbors native Katelyn Adams each scored twice for the Yellowjackets, while Proctor native Andrea McKay added a goal.
The Yellowjackets will now host Northland College on Tuesday, September 6. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m. on the UW-Superior campus.
