Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Starting quarterback Matt Cassel went 5-of-6 for 62 yards as the Minnesota Vikings won the 2014 preseason opener, beating the Oakland Raiders 10-6 at TCF Bank Stadium. Cassel was very efficient on the game's first drive, including a 22-yard pass to tight end Kyle Rudolph that set up running back Matt Asiata for a one-yard touchdown run. Rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was somewhat shaky in his professional debut, completing 6-of-13 passes for 49 yards while leading the Vikings to just three points. The Minnesota defense was the big story throughout much of the game, holding the Raiders scoreless until late in the fourth quarter. The Vikings finished with two sacks and an interception in the winning effort. This is the first time since 2010 Minnesota has won its preseason opener since 2010, with the team's second game scheduled for Aug. 16 against Arizona.
