Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Chisago Lakes girls' basketball team used a 19-5 run late in the first half on Thursday night to take control of the Section 7AAA championship game against Grand Rapids, with the Wildcats winning by a 64-45 final score.
The Wildcats led by 10 at the break and then outscored the Thunderhawks by another 11 points in the second half to win a second straight section title, with each championship game victory coming against Grand Rapids.
Chisago Lakes now advances to the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Class AAA tournament, while Grand Rapids finishes the year with an overall record of (21-7).
