Chisholm's Schroeder to Race 2014 Iditarod

Chisholm, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Chisholm, Minn. native Nathan Schroeder announced of Friday his plans to race in the 2014 Iditarod in Alaska, that just weeks after he won his second title at the John Beargease Sled Dog Marathon.

The Iditarod is run every year in early March from Anchorage, Ala. to Nome, Ala., with the distance officially set at 1,049 miles. The race usually takes between nine and 15 days to complete, with the winner receiving a $25,000 prize.

It will be the first time racing the Iditarod for Schroeder, who said Friday he is excited to try his skills against the toughest course in the world.
