Chisholm's McDonald into Nat'l HOF

Chisholm, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Chisholm boys' basketball coach Bob McDonald will be inducted into the National High School Hall of Fame this summer, capping a 59-year career that has included more than 1,000 coaching victories.

McDonald will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on July 2 in Boston, making him the 12th person from Minnesota to be so honored. He is also a member of the Minnesota Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame (1990) and the MSHSL Hall of Fame (2013).

The Chisholm, Minn. native started his coaching career in McGregor and Barnum but has been head man of the Bluestreaks program since 1961, leading that team to 11 state tournaments and three state championships/

With a record of (1,011-427), McDonald is both the all-time winningest coach in Minnesota history and one of only 13 coaches nationwide to accumulate 1,000-plus victories in boys' basketball.
