Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Cloquet boys' basketball team won in double overtime on Wednesday and Grand Rapids earned a two-point victory, with each now advancing to the Section 7AAA championship game.
Adam Laine hit a layup for the Lumberjacks with four seconds to play in the second overtime, giving Cloquet a 69-68 win over top-seeded Hermantown.
Dillon Johnson scored 23 points in the winning effort, including a buzzer-beating three-pointer at the end of regulation to tie the game at 57 and send it to the first overtime.
Grand Rapids, meanwhile, was led by the 29 points of Alex Illikainen and the 13 points of A.J. Watland in earning a 59-57 win over Chisago Lakes.
The Lumberjacks and Thunderhawks will now play for the Section 7AAA championship, with that game set for 7:00 p.m. on March 15 at Duluth Denfeld High School.
