Crandall Lifts 'Dogs Past Huskies in Opener

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Justin Crandall scored late in the third period on Friday night to give the University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) men's hockey team a 2-1 win over Michigan Tech in the 2012-13 season opener at AMSOIL Arena.

Tony Camaranesi scored the other goal for the Bulldogs, with Matt McNeely making 15 saves to earn the win in goal.

UMD is now (1-0-0) this season and will finish out the two-game weekend series with Michigan Tech on Saturday, with that game set to start at 7:07 p.m. and be broadcast live on the My 9 Sports Network.
