Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Shawna Davidson has resigned her post after four seasons as head coach of the Duluth girls' hockey team, she confirmed to KBJR6 and KDLH3 on Friday evening.

Davidson cited several problem areas as the reason for her departure, saying she doesn't want to continue having negative feelings toward the sport of hockey.

A former assistant at the University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD), Davidson helped lead the Northern Stars to a (10-15-2) overall record in 2012-13 and a spot in the Section 7AA semifinals.
