Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- If Curt Myers has car troubles on Friday night while racing at AMSOIL Speedway in Superior, Wis., he is more apt to know exactly how to fix it than some other drivers.
"It's a lot easier to fix it when you've built it yourself," Myers said. "I can say that and repair it. You know what you're looking for."
"He did a good job," car owner Dan Koivisto said. "He knows his cars. He knows the setup. He knows what's making it work and what's wrong with it if it's not working right."
Myers is currently the points leader this summer in the Super Stock class, proving that Koivisto made a good choice.
"He says before we even started, I'll get you 10 features, and we have 11 so far," Koivisto said. "He can put this car in some places I would never thought of putting it."
Koivisto raced for more than 40 years before hanging it up but still wanted to be a part of it.
"They're good guys to work with," Myers said. "They take pretty good care of me. They take care of the car; buy me whatever I need usually, so that's what helps me to go fast."
