Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Over 130 runners competed in the Northshore Inline Marathon's inaugural Tunnel 10K on Saturday morning weaving along Interstate 35 with Paul Behrens finishing with the fastest time.

Participants ran through the tunnels of I-35 until 26th Ave. E before turning around and coming back through the tunnels before finishing at the William A. Irvin.

Behrens was the first to cross the finish line with a time of 36:22. The Duluth native said it was a unique opportunity to be able to run through the tunnels.

"It's kind of a weird experience. It's a little surreal. I've never been in a highway tunnel by myself running before with no cars. It was the first time I've ever done it, first time it's been done. It's fun."
