Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Duluth, Minn. native Chris Connolly is leaving his professional team in Finland and joining Iserlohn of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL), he announced on Thursday night via Twitter.
"It's has been an amazing time here in Tampere. I have loved every minute of it," Connolly wrote in reference to his old team Tappara. "And a special thanks to all of the fans for their support. I appreciate everything very much. Good luck with the rest of the season."
Connolly later wrote on Twitter that he was joining Iserlohn, a team that plays in the 14-team DEL that is considered the top professional hockey league in Germany.
The former Duluth Marshall standout scored 129 points during a four-year collegiate career with Boston, including a goal and an assist during the team's 2009 NCAA national championship win.
