Duluth's Fairchild Signs Contract in KHL

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Duluth, Minn. native Cade Fairchild has signed a contract with Metallurg Novokuznetsk of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) in Russia for the 2014-15 season, it was announced on Tuesday.

Fairchild played parts of the 2013-14 season with Chicago and Portland of the American Hockey League (AHL) and Kalamazoo of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL), totaling two goals and 23 assists in 49 games played.

After playing four seasons at the University of Minnesota, Fairchild went on to play five games with the St. Louis Blues in the 2011-12 season and recorded a single assist.
