Duluth's Ringsred 26th at Olympic Games

Sochi, Russia (NNCNOW.com) --- Duluth, Minn. native Anna Ringsred finished in 26th place on Sunday in the 3,000-meter speedskating race at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games.

"Not the race I had hoped for, but I fought until the end," Ringsred wrote on her Twitter account following the race. "Thank you all for the support!"

The 2003 Duluth Marshall graduate finished the race in a time of 4:21.51, more than 20 seconds behind the gold medal winning time of 4:00.34 posted by Ireen Wust of the Netherlands.

The 3,000-meters was the only race of the 2014 Games for Ringsred, who was making her first-ever Olympic appearance.
