Duluth's Shuster Rink Falls in Olympic Opener

Sochi, Russia (NNCNOW.com) --- Chisholm, Minn. native John Shuster and the United States men's curling team fell 7-4 on Monday morning to Norway in the Americans' opening qualification match of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games.

Shuster and his teammates, all Minnesota natives, struggled with their throws from early on in the match but did but within a 5-3 score in the middle ends.

Norway is now (1-0) in round robin play while the United States falls to (0-1). The Americans' next match is against China, with that set for a 4:00 a.m. CT start on Tuesday.

Eveleth, Minn. native Jeff Isaacson, Hibbing, Minn. native Jared Zezel, and Duluth, Minn. resident John Landsteiner are the three other members of Shuster's rink in Sochi.
