Edgerton Edges Cherry for Third Place

Mankato, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Cherry starting pitcher Kacey Herring and Edgerton starting pitcher Tianna Top combined for 18 strikeouts on Friday morning, but it was the Flying Dutchmen earning the game's only run and the third place trophy at the MSHSL Class A softball tournament as Caswell Park in Mankato, Minn.

Edgerton scored an unearned run with two outs in the bottom of the second inning to account for all the game's scoring, with the third place finish marking the highest ever at the state tournament for the Flying Dutchmen.

Cherry ends the season with an overall record of (23-6).
