Esko, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Esko Little League Intermediate 50/70 team has advanced through district and state play and has earned the right to play in the Central Region tournament, which is scheduled for July 20-26 in Kalamazoo, Mich.

The 12 and 13-year-olds from Esko, Minn. won the Minnesota state title this year and can now advance to the Little League World Series in Livermore, Calif. should they win the regional tournament.

"Seeing the smiles on their faces makes it all worthwhile," said Shawn Northey, one of Esko's co-coaches. "The kids have done a great job, and the parents have put forth a lot of effort, too."

The cost of the trip to Kalamazoo, Mich. is roughly $8,000, so the Esko team is asking for help from the community. Donations can be mailed to the address below or through Republic Bank in care of Esko Little League.
