Esko, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Esko senior Marisa Shady signed her national letter of intent with Division I South Dakota State University (SDSU) on Wednesday afternoon, making official her verbal commitment made in January.
Shady will run cross country along with indoor and outdoor track at SDSU, commenting that her senior year at Esko solidified her decision to run in college. She had also been considering playing basketball following high school.
The Eskomos' standout has won the past three Section 7A cross country championships, and in 2012 she led the Esko girls' team to a MSHSL Class A team cross country championship for the first time.
Shady will receive a full scholarship between athletics and academics to attend SDSU, which was the only school to which she took an official visit.
