Raleigh, NC (NNCNOW.com) --- Carolina Hurricanes defenseman and former University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) star Justin Faulk will miss up to a month with a second-degree sprain of his medial collateral ligament (MCL), it was announced on Wednesday. The injury will not require surgery for the second-year pro, who is expected to be out two to four weeks for the Hurricanes. Faulk has totaled three goals and seven assists through 28 games this season for Carolina, that after posting eight goals and 14 assists during his rookie campaign of 2011-12. The South St. Paul, Minn. native spent just one season with UMD, finishing with eight goals and 25 assists while helping the Bulldogs to that program's first-ever NCAA Division I championship.
