Ex-Bulldog Fontaine Survives Cut with AHL's Aeros

Houston, TX (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Former University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) forward Justin Fontaine was not among 12 players cut on Thursday from the Houston Aeros, the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Minnesota Wild.

Fontaine played the entire 2011-12 season in Houston, totaling 16 goals and 39 assists during that time.

He signed with the Minnesota organization following his senior season with UMD, in which the Bulldogs won the 2011 NCAA Division I championship.

Fontaine played 159 games during his collegiate career, totaling 62 goals and 102 assists while in a UMD sweater.
