San Jose, CA (NNCNOW.com) --- Former University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) goaltender Alex Stalock re-signed with the San Jose Sharks on Friday, staying with the team he's played with since 2009-2010.

Stalock played just 42 minutes with the Sharks last season, but went 17-16-4 with San Jose's AHL team in Worcester, posting a 2.6 goals against average.

Stalock will likely be the Sharks backup next year after they passed on re-signing last year's backup, Thomas Greiss, who signed with Phoenix.

While with UMD, Stalock led the Bulldogs to a WCHA Final Five tournament title and NCAA tournament appearance in 2009. He also still holds school records in both saves percentage and goals against average.
