Miami, FL (NNCNOW.com) --- Former Duluth Huskies infielder Zach Walters made his major league debut on Friday night, coming on as a pinch hitter for Washington in the Nationals' 7-0 loss on the road to the Miami Marlins.

Walters singled in his only at-bat of the ball game, with that coming in the 6th inning off Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez.

During the 2009 season with Duluth, Walters hit for a .217 average in 63 games while driving in 22 runs and adding seven doubles and two triples.
