Ex-Husky Connor Joe Taken 39th in MLB Draft

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Former Duluth Huskies catcher Connor Joe was taken by the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday night with the 39th overall selection in the 2014 MLB First-Year Player Draft.

Joe, who plays collegiately at the University of San Diego, played for the Huskies in the 2012 season and finished the year with a .295 batting average, 24 runs batted in, and 15 doubles.

The 6-foot, 205-pound Joe has also played first base and right field at the University of San Diego, where he just finished up his junior season for the Toreros.
