Park Falls, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Three-time U.S. Olympian Suzy Favor Hamilton said on Friday she would not be shocked if Duluth native Kara Goucher won a medal in the marathon during the upcoming London Olympic Games.

Favor Hamilton, now a motivational speaker, was in Park Falls on Friday speaking to high school students and signing autographs.

She called Goucher a true inpsiration considering obstacles facing the Duluth East graduate during her competitive running career.

Goucher will be competing in her second Olympic Games, this time running in the marathon after competing in both the 5,000-meters and 10,000-meters in 2008.

She finished third in the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials, completing the 26.2-mile course in a time of 2:26:06.

Shalane Flanagan and Desiree Davila will join Goucher on the three-person United States women's marathon team.
