Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) ---The U.S Women's National hockey team was announced on Monday afternoon which included former University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) women's hockey assistant coach, Julie Chu, who will make her fourth Olympic appearance. Chu, who spent three seasons coaching with the Bulldogs, leads a team that includes 11 former Olympians as well as a 16-year-old in Jincy Dune. The 31-year-old resigned as the assistant women's coach at Union College in March to focus solely on training for the games. The team was whittled down from 41 to 25 over a weeklong Team Selection Camp up in Lake Placid. Four are still to be cut in December ahead of Sochi. The women's team finished as the runner-up to Canada in the 2010 games. Posted by Sarah Wheeler swheeler@kbjr.com
