Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Former University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) tight end Jeremy Reierson is participating this weekend in the Minnesota Vikings rookie camp, marking the second straight season an ex-Bulldog has had a shot at making an NFL roster.
Reierson received an invitation to the camp this past Sunday following the completion of the 2014 NFL Draft, and his former head coach thinks he will have a chance to turn some heads this weekend.
"Every team is a little different," UMD head coach Curt Wiese said. "Some tight ends are used as wide receivers, some play on the line of scrimmage. You watch the Vikings offense, and I think Jeremy's a guy that could potentially play both spots for those guys."
Reierson finished his senior season with UMD this past fall, closing out his collegiate career with 12 catches for 159 yards and five touchdowns in the 2013 campaign.
Former UMD offensive linemen Garth Heikkinen and Jake Bscherer were both invited to last summer's Minnesota Vikings rookie camp, and Bscherer was also invited to that of the Seattle Seahawks.
