Tulsa, OK (NNCNOW.com) --- Former UW-Superior forward Kyle Leahy has signed a contract with the Tulsa Oilers of the Central Hockey League (CHL), it was announced by the team on Monday.

Leahy played four seasons with the Yellowjackets, totaling 16 goals and 34 assists in 103 games played. He also amassed 203 penalty minutes, leading the team in that statistic during his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons.

“I was a fighter in junior but I developed the rest of my game in university and I became more successful at both ends of the ice,” Leahy said to the Oilers website. “I like to finish my hits and get the team going. If the boys need a lift, I’m not afraid to drop the gloves.”

A two-year captain for UW-Superior, Leahy earned all-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) honorable mention as a senior after getting first team honors as a junior.
