Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Freshman Austin Farley scored two second period goals on Friday night, but the University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) men's hockey team fell to #2-ranked Minnesota 5-3 at Mariucci Arena in Minneapolis. Justin Crandall also scored in the losing effort for the Bulldogs, with the loss stretching the team's current winless streak to eight games. Erik Haula had two goals for Minnesota, including an empty-netter with just six seconds remaining to seal the win. Kyle Rau scored what would turn out to be the game-winner at the 13:25 mark of the third period.
