Laura Sylvester makes her collegiate coaching debut this season, as the new head coach for the Fond du Lac Thunder volleyball team.

Sylvester served as an assistant coach for AlBrook's volleyball team the past two seasons.

A native of Alborn, Sylvester is a former 4-sport star at AlBrook, and played college basketball at UMD from 2001-2006, including serving a medical red-shirt season her sophomore year. She played for Karen Stromme until her senior season, when Sue Fiero took over for one year.

Fond du Lac went (2-14) in their inaugural season under coach Mike Patenaude. Patenaude is now an assistant at UWS, under head coach Lynne Deadrick.

The Thunder open the year September 1st at Rainy River. Their home opener is September 15th against Itasca Community College.
