Fargo, ND (NNCNOW.com) --- Former Duluth East standout Dom Toninato has signed his national letter of intent to play hockey at the University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD), he announced via Twitter on Tuesday night.

"It's official signed my national letter of intent today," Toninato wrote on his Twitter account. "Can't wait to play for the hometown Bulldogs!"

The former Greyhound is now playing in the United States Hockey League (USHL) with the Fargo Force, having posted six goals and 13 assists through 17 games this season.

Toninato was a senior captain last season with Duluth East, helping the Greyhounds to a (29-2) overall record and a spot in the MSHSL Class AA tournament.

The future Bulldog was drafted in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the fifth round with the 126th overall pick.
