Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Superior native Brett Olson hopes his first game at AMSOIL Arena in Duluth come complete with wins, but he and the Michigan Tech Huskies will have their hands full with the #1-ranked UMD Bulldogs.

Olson is the captain of this year's Huskies, a role he also filled last season during his junior year, and said he's encouraged by the team's recent success.

Michigan Tech enters the weekend in seventh place in the Western Collegiate Hockey Conference, boasting an (8-7-1) record in the conference and (11-12-1) record overall.

Olson, a former Superior Spartan, is the team's leading scorer this year with six goals and 15 assists so far. He has scored 38 goals and tallied 46 assists for 84 points in his career with Michigan Tech.

Earlier this season, UMD swept the Huskies in Houghton, MI by identical 5-3 scores on Friday and Saturday night.

Olson and the Huskies will drop the puck against the Bulldogs this weekend at 7:07 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday from AMSOIL Arena.

Both those games can be seen on live television in the Northland on the My 9 Sports Network.
