Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- Four players from the UW-Superior women's hockey team have been named to the all-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) first team, it was announced on Friday afternoon.
Senior goaltender Shanley Peters, senior defenseman Sheryl Kaskiw, senior forward Kerry Mayhew, and junior forward Dani Schultz were the Yellowjackets' honorees, that after they led UW-Superior to an overall record of (14-7-6) this season.
Peters, a two-time all-WIAC honoree, appeared in all but one game this year for the Yellowjackets, posting an overall record of (13-7-6) and a 1.48 goals against average.
In her career, she ranks second in games played (71), second in minutes played (4243:15), fourth in wins (37), third in goals against average (1.68), third in save percentage (.929), second in saves (1,546), and fourth in shutouts (11).
Kaskiw earns her first all-WIAC recognition this season after leading the Yellowjackets in assists this season with 17, helping her lead the team's defensemen with 18 points on the year.
Mayhew is also a first-time all-WIAC honoree after she scored eight goals and 17 assists, and she leaves the program ranked ninth all-time with 39 career assists and eighth all-time with 67 total points.
Schultz, a three-time all-WIAC player, was again UW-Superior's leading scorer this season with 12 goals and 15 assists for 27 total points. The junior captain has now scored 47 goals in her collegiate career, already the second-most in program history.
