Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- Amsoil Speedway in Superior celebrated its regular season finale on Friday night by crowning champions in five different classes including a two-class win by Darrell Nelson.
Nelson came into the night leading the standings for both the late models and modifieds. The Hermantown native finished the Modified feature in fifth place while Deven VanHouse finished in the top spot.
In the late model feature, Chad Mahder took home the top spot with Nelson in the second position. Jeff Provinzino finished in third.
Thunder Bay native Cody Wolkowski edged out Dan Kingsley to take home the Midwest modified track championship. Skeeter Ester was the feature winner with Wolkowski in second and Jake Gondik in third.
Curt Myers of Cameron, Wisc. finished as the super stock track champion with his fifth place finish. Andy Grymala of Superior was the top finisher on Friday with Andy Dave of Hibbing the runner-up and Nick Oreskovich finishing in the third spot.
Michael Blevins of Hibbing finished his dominant season in the pure stock feature with a win and the track championship. Ryan Savoy of Superior finished in second place with Matt Hammitt of Cloquet in third.
The Northern Nationals are set for Sept. 6-7 at Amsoil Speedway.
